1992-93 Terry Yake Hartford Whalers NHL signed jersey WHA

Very nice condition jersey, signed by Terry Yake who played with them from 1989 through 1993.  What is interesting is that the jersey is #38, but Terry Yake signed it as #25.  Terry wore jersey #38 for Hartford from 1989-92 but changed to #25 for that last year which the jersey also has the 100th anniversary patch on it for 1993.  So, it seems to be signed by Terry in 1993, but it also makes this jersey a puzzle.  It seems like it was intended as a game issued jersey.  But when Terry changed numbers he just signed this one and then either him or the team probably either auctioned it off or gave it away.  Has the fight strap, but it doesn't have the Custom Crafted stamp on the inside hem which makes sense if Terry was not going to wear #38 that year.  Either way, I do not have a LOA for signature or jersey history.  It is a very beautiful condition and cool looking historical jersey.
