    Description

Antique Edwardian Period Black Leather Lace Up Boots Sz. 7
Up on the auction block is a fantastic pair of Antique Edwardian Period Black Leather Lace Up Boots in about a size US 7. The numbers inside the shafts read as follows:
    50 4 25517
. The leather is in excellent condition with only a few scrapes and scratches in various places around the shoes. Very new-like condition overall with very little wear. The leather is also a little bit on the stiff side, about the same type as military issue. All external seam work is solid and intact, but on the right boot below the first eyelet pair the stitching that sews the two shaft halves together is frayed and loose making the right outstep half easy to pull out. There is some very nice leather punch work around the capped toes.
The inside cotton twill lining is in very clean and excellent condition with no rips or tears in it. Only a few age spots and stains present. The leather insoles are in new-like condition and have a full complement of felt/wool heel pads that look almost new. The leather banding along the eyelets is in poor condition and has even flaked off in places. There is about a 1 “ black fabric band across the high tops in in a new-like condition. The leather tongues are also in a new-like condition and they have no cloth backing on them. There are 15 pairs of eyelets to lace up.
The bottom leather soles show a very minimal amount of wear and have almost 95% of the leather over soles. The wooden wedge heels are very sturdy and have all the leather heel caps on them.
