Alloy W is a Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum "superalloy" used for welding similar base metals such as Hastelloy® W to itself or for welding dissimilar combinations of cobalt and nickel based alloys used in high temperature service.
Alloy W provides good mechanical properties up to 1,800°F, however, it exhibits poor oxidation resistance above 1,400°F and it should not be used in applications in excess of 750 hours.
Alloy W is commonly used in the aircraft industry for jet engine repair and maintenance, gas turbine parts and rotor hubs.
    Tensile strength: 109,500 psi.
    Elongation is 42%.
