For your bidding consideration today, from a local estate auction of a long time shoe collector, we have a pair of fancy antique Victorian lace up boots or shoes, with issues. These are dark brown with a silk fabric top, brown leather on the rest of the boots. The area along the eyelets has triangle cut outs with the same silk fabric underneath. They lace in the front and all metal tips are present on the laces. The boots have a leather stacked heel, and a name inside of one shoe that ai can’t make out. As striking as these boots are, as you can see from the photos, they do have some condition issues. The silk has rubbing and wear, and the worst spots are at the back, where you can see that one side is split open, showing the lining underneath. There is wear to the leather also, missing spots of color, and some scattered fine cracking or crazing. Even with the flaws, they are still worthy of being in a collection, and I believe that these must have been some expensive shoes in their day!  When placed up against a wall, and measured from where the heel of your foot would sit, they are a little over 9 1/2” long, the width of the sole at the widest part is 2 3/4”. We will be adding more from the same auction shortly.
