For your bidding consideration today, from an estate auction of a long time shoe collector, we have a fancy pair of antique Victorian shoes. These shoes are made of black patent leather and have criss cross straps that button closed on both sides. They have silver colored beads, probably steel beads, on the toe area, all around the opening and on both straps. There are large beads, surrounded by the smaller beads on the toe area. Around the opening one shoe has the large bead in the center, with a diamond pattern around each bead, the other shoe has the same design but some of the larger beads were missing, and there are smaller silver colored beads in their place. You can see this in the close ups. The straps have the same design, larger silver beads, surrounded by the diamond pattern around the smaller beads. There is one large bead missing under the strap on one shoe, and smaller beads in place of the larger beads under the straps on both shoes. The heel is silver, inside the shoes there is a name~~SYMONS DRY GOODS CO BUTTE MONT. The buttons on the sides have been moved to accommodate a larger foot. The shoes are just lovely, even with the bead situation, there is scattered bead loss on both shoes, there is some cracking to the patent, some color loss in spots, some scuffs, especially at the toe area. Even with all of the flaws, they are a very unique pair of antique shoes. They are small in size, when placed up against a wall, and measured from where the heel of your foot would sit, they are 9” long and the width of the sole at the widest part is 2 1/2”.
