Goalie Glove Set Catch Blocker-John Brown Elite refurbished with CCM Gatekeeper. Up for sale to some lucky buyer is a hockey goalie regular glove set (catch left/blocker right), both in game ready condition, pre-owned, been used and work wonderfully I might add, both sized as adult/senior/large, in matching black and white colors. The CCM catch model Gatekeeper (9 new) has a huge spread but with a modern narrower cuff, and is actually a bit lighter than the Brown pro set I use. It has a great strap-in setup with an outside cuff velcro, then an inside pull wrist strap that places with velcro as well, a unique two thumb strap in and a 'cooling pad' at the palm area. The pocket is deep and glove is far from being broken in by its user. Very secure and comfortable, an awesome catch glove. Now on to the Brown Elite blocker. It is a senior/adult/large, palm is intact and healthy, glove fastening adjusted by a single strap and locked in with velcro which like my other newer Brown blockers it has full freedom of wrist movement (unlike some other brands). This one I put a lot of love into (hey I'm a Brown equipment guy) and fully refurbished it to great game ready status. I bought it used many years ago with a broken thumb (seller wasn't forthwith on details), but I favor the Brown gear so I bought it on a chance I could resurrect it. The edges were semi unlaced and and half the palm was free fingering so the palm got a wax thread re-lacing, not as bad as I initially thought when I opened the package up. The palm leather was still actually in good shape and complete which is rare on well-used gloves. It was a mess the wife thought I was about to lose my first patient. Not so. I re-laced it all back up with wax coated thread (waterproof), then replaced the outside welting with the same synthetic material modern companies use that I buy in bulk, replacing the eventually frayed cloth normally used (I do this with all my repaired gloves). In note there is usually an extra swoosh sewn onto this model on the blocker face, it was half hanging on and ripped when I got it so when I took the board out to I just pulled the rest of the thread and removed it since it's just a topical aesthetic anyway, then re-laced with waterproof wax coated thread in overlap. Overall this is a great set of blocker and catch gloves for either the busy goalie as backup gear or a great upgrade if you're looking for quality gear without breaking the bank (and yes the Brown gear is/was very pricey new). I've used this set a few times in pickup and the gloves feels and work great, are light weight, and look great together. I have multiple sets of in both Brown and mixed name brands and I'm figuring out since I play a lot less these days I'm not making the rounds of all my equipment like I used to so it's time to downsizing. Plus the wife is giving me 'that look' about how much extra gear I have. You know that look. Great set I wish I didn't need to get rid of them my loss someone else's gain. Anyway thank you for looking at the listing and I hope it piques your interest for a spare set up or maybe creates a gear solution for you.
