Marquise Footwear was a division of Wohl Shoe Company, part of Brown Shoe Company from St. Louis MO. The brand was top of the line, high fashion, quality footwear, These were made in Italy.
In 1982-83 I worked in a shoe store that sold Marquise shoes along with fanfares/Connie brand. I wore these with a light violet sweater dress to a party. They were comfortable and I wish I had worn them more often- but I didn't want to ruin the gorgeous suede or heels dancing the nights away in St. Louis. They are beautiful on the foot with the delicate, adjustable sling back, open toe, 3.5" sturdy heel. The ribbon suede bow is a delightful feminine touch to these elegant shoes. I will love to see these go to a lady who will wear them to enhance her wardrobe!
