when bought tag on trap read S.Sample,trap was a odd flat white color so i sprayed it with brake clean and WOW! its chromed, I know what S Sample stood for,i paid a lot for it  because you could see the deep stamps through the coating,i left some of the coating on the chain and there are smears here and there,very hard to take pictures of,100% stamp on spring and pan no pitting never used, nice vintage trap,VERY
