Vintage #1 Victor Giant Long Spring Trap Newhouse

Description

In the period after 1900, trap companies were increasingly attempting to replace expensive cast jaw traps with steel jaws.  The Oneida Community worked for years and developed the ribbed steel jaws that they introduced with this Victor Giant trap in 1921. This # 1 size  trap is complete with strong spring and complete chain and ring and has the high arching jaws that gave it the name Giant.  The pan is well struck and reads.   This trap meets ebay protocol with jaw spread less than 5 1/2 inches.
