Vintage "Lily" Onex
Heels with clear Lucite
Kitten Heels, size 7
In 1972, Onnik Kouyoumdjian, better known as Mr. Onex, an immigrant from a family of European shoemakers, founded Onex Shoes. In the 70's he was the first to introduce the clear Lucite slide, better know as the "Glass Slipper." It made its mark in lady's footwear, designed to match everything in a woman's wardrobe, and then became the signature style for the Onex line.
This pair of Onex heels comes with the original box. The box is marked: "style  Lily  color  taupe  size 7". The bottom of the heels is marked 7 in the lucite and on the rubber of one sole. (Some recommend buying an Onex shoe in a size that is a half size larger than what size you normally wear.)
The height on these lucite heels can vary. This pair has 2" in heels. I have photographed the profile of the heel. It has the slight curve of a kitten heel. The insole is taupe suede leather.
