Vintage Chas Briddell Escape Proof Seven Hole Trap Newhouse

Description

This is an early trap developed to combat the problem of wring-off when trapping muskrats.  These escape proof traps were initially made in two variations with one hole and 7 hole pans.  They were initially made by the Chas Briddell Co which was later bought by the Animal Trap Co. who continued to make these traps after they had obtained the rights from Briddell.  The 7 hole trap listed here is an example of a earlier trap made by Chas Briddell Co..  It is a complete trap with strong springs and the identification lettering all reads well.  This trap is marked Pat Pend across the trigger as are other Chas Briddell made traps.  The trap conforms to eBay protocol that jaw spread must be less than 5 1/2 inches.
