This #1 and # 1 1/2 pair of jump traps were made during a period when advancement in trap design was rapid and changes were being made often. These are the first of the Oneida Community single under spring traps that had the word JUMP on the pan and they were also marked Oneida Community NY rather than LTD. The traps have patent dates for 02 and 04 but do not show the 07 date even though they both are hump cross which is the 07 patent. These traps were likely made in about 1907-10 and are in very good condition with strong springs and complete "bow tie" chains and both also have the long folded J hook that was used briefly to attach the chain to the spring. Both pans are clean and readable. These traps conform to eBay protocol that requires traps to have jaw spread less than 5 1/2 inches.
