This #2 Victor Double Shot stoploss muskrat trap was made in the early 1920s as an improved tool for muskrat harvest. Double Shot traps differ from the earlier Louisiana Special which had a tooth plate while the Double Shot has the very unusual gripper modifications to each jaw half way up. This trap shows some use but the springs are strong, the chain is complete with ring and the pan marking reads well. The trap is a nearly uniform dark brown color and conforms to eBay policy that requires jaw spread less than 5 1/2 inches.
